Eclair of JEAN PAUL HEVIN

I personally believe JEAN PAUL HEVIN (ジャン=ポール・エヴァン) is one of the best chocolate shops in the world. The taste is very delicate and so delicious. Before they started the business in Japan, I have spent USD250 for buying their chocolates at the shop in Paris. It means the taste is good and the price is also very good...For instance, one piece of ganache chocolate costs around USD5. Only one piece! So, I can't buy so often.

On the other hand, their cakes are relatively reasonable. I bought an eclair during shopping in the Omotesando Hills. It costed JPY570, approx. USD7. But the taste was definitely nice! Especially the caramel cream contained inside was very sophisticated. Even a small piece gave me high satisfaction. I wish if I could taste more frequently! But considering the low cost performance as a whole...my rating is 3.5 out of 5. Gochiso-samadeshita!

  1. I remember that a nice Eclair in a local French bakery costs between 1.8-2.8 euros. By no means would I call a USD7 Eclair "reasonably" priced. It must be super-duper delicious.

  2. Of course, even in Japan, eclair is around USD1-3. But it is "Jean Paul Hevin", branded one and comparing other cakes there, eclair is reasonable, I meant:)
